The tree of this variety reaches a height of 3–5 meters and forms a compact, medium-density pyramidal crown. The fruits are heart-shaped and weigh from 6–8 to 10–11 g. The fruit skin is firm, dark red, almost black in color; the flesh is juicy, with a sweet or dessert taste; the stone is free-stone.

The variety belongs to the medium maturity group; the harvest is collected in mid- or late June. The plant has good immunity to the main diseases of the crop, including coccomycosis. The variety is self-sterile or partially self-fertile; pollinator varieties are necessary for effective fruiting.

Due to the fact that the name is descriptive, genetically different forms of sweet cherry may be hidden under it in different regions. Data on the transportability of the harvest in various sources is contradictory.
