In agronomic literature and cultivar systematization studies, the names Vroege Bigarreau and Vroege van Gelmen are identified as synonyms for the variety Bigarreau de Jaboulay. Historical confusion in nomenclature led to the same planting material often being distributed under these names in nurseries.
The primary economic characteristic of this variety is an extremely high susceptibility of the fruit to cracking. Due to this feature, the variety was deemed unsuitable for further cultivation in a number of agronomic studies. Detailed morphological descriptions of the plant are absent in the sources.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
