The tree is distinguished by strong growth vigor and forms a large crown. It enters the fruiting phase relatively late; yields are characterized as moderate and not always regular. The fruits have a heart shape, often flattened at the poles, and the skin acquires an almost black color upon full maturity.
The variety was widely used in breeding as a parent form for developing new varieties, such as Rivan and Helga. It is used as a pollinator for a number of other sweet cherry varieties. In modern conditions, it is found more often in collection orchards than in commercial plantings.
