IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The variety matures in the first half of July, with the ripening process potentially being irregular. The fruits are characterized as large, have a dark red, almost brown color and a shiny skin. The flesh is juicy and sweet, has good taste qualities, and moderate resistance to cracking.
Wijnkers trees can be formed as low-, semi-, or high-stem cultures. The plant is not self-fertile and requires the proximity of pollinator varieties such as Bigarreau Napoleon, Dubbele Meikers, Early Rivers, Inspecteur Löhnis, Udense Spaanse, and Varikse Zwarte.
The variety prefers sunny or semi-shaded areas protected from strong wind and requires well-drained soils without moisture stagnation. The fruits have a universal purpose and are suitable both for fresh consumption and for culinary processing.
