Variety description

10 August 2026

The Windsor variety belongs to the Bigarreau group, which is characterized by firm, cartilaginous fruit flesh. The fruits themselves are small and have a light color. Regarding its purpose, the variety is a dessert type intended for fresh consumption.

The plant is self-incompatible and requires pollinators for fruit set. In scientific research, the variety is known as potential parental material for developing new breeding forms, including the Bing variety, and was used as an initial seedling for the development of other varieties, for example, Sam.
