The variety is a hybrid obtained in 1964 as a result of crossing the plum variety Queen Victoria and Prunus americana. The fruit tree belongs to the mid-late maturity group.
The variety is considered winter-hardy, however, in conditions of extremely harsh winters, it is subject to severe frost damage. The plant shows resistance to aphid infestation, while the variety is characterized by high productivity and large fruit size.
