The Campiel variety is a traditional (heirloom) variety of Spanish origin, widely known in the Navarre and Aragon regions. It is included in national peach genetic resource collections.
The fruits belong to the non-melting flesh type, known as "cartilaginous" or canning peaches. Harvesting, depending on growing conditions, is carried out during the period from August to September.
The variety is considered a historically significant genetic resource. In scientific literature, it is often mentioned as an object for the study of peach genetic diversity.
