CALEJOS is a clone selected from the local Amarillo Tardío yellow late peach population as part of a product standardization program under the protected geographical indication Melocotón de Calanda. Selection work was carried out by the agricultural services of the Government of Aragon beginning in 1980.
The fruits of this clone are characterized by their large size, firm structure, and a sugar content of more than 14° Brix. The fruit flesh is yellow. The clone has demonstrated good adaptation to the soil and climatic conditions of the middle Ebro valley when using the Cadaman rootstock.
