The variety is the result of crossing J. H. Hale and Sunbeam varieties. The trees are medium-sized; fruit ripening occurs in early August. Fruits weighing from 200 g have a spherical shape, yellow juicy flesh, and an intense red blush on the skin.
Fruits are distinguished by their ability to remain on the branches without dropping and a easily separable stone. The variety is characterized as winter-hardy, possesses general disease resistance, and shows relative resistance to plum pox virus. Intended for fresh consumption.
