The variety is classified as a nectarine. Fruits have smooth, hairless skin; the pit is partially freestone. Morphological characteristics of pollen grains include a specific type of exine ornamentation and an increased grain size in the swollen state compared to a number of other varieties in the Maria group.
The variety is susceptible to Plum Pox Virus. Upon infection of trees, a high relative concentration of the virus is recorded in leaf and flower tissues.
