The variety belongs to the late maturity group, ripening approximately 24 days after the Elberta variety. The fruit has firm flesh and a stone that separates easily from the fruit, however, the quality of the fruit itself is rated as minimally acceptable.
The plant is self-incompatible and requires cross-pollination for fruit set. The chilling requirement is approximately 850 hours. The tree has poor vegetative characteristics, which is why the variety has not gained wide commercial distribution.
The variety was obtained as a result of open pollination. It is mainly used in scientific work on peach genetics, in particular in the creation of mapping populations for studying various plant traits.
