Mora di Moriano is a collection of local traditional peach varieties adapted to the conditions of the Tuscany region. This group includes individual clones or breeding lines, such as Mora di Moriano Dolfi and Mora di Moriano Nottoli.
The fruits are distinguished by dark red, almost black skin and aromatic yellow flesh. The pit separates easily from the flesh, which corresponds to the "spicca" category. Regarding maturity, mid-June is indicated for one of the forms.
The varieties are intended for fresh consumption, pairing with wine, or for canning. These varieties are subjects of regional agrobiodiversity conservation and are mentioned in studies focused on genetic diversity and resistance to leaf curl.
