The variety is self-fertile and is characterized by low winter chilling requirements of approximately 200–300 hours. In California conditions, the fruit ripens in early or mid-May.
The fruit are characterized by large size and a dark red, close to crimson, color shade. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and can be used as a pollinizer for other sweet cherry varieties, such as Minnie Royal and Royal Lee.
