The variety is a seedling from open pollination of the J. H. Hale variety. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, is less demanding in terms of pruning, and, unlike the parent variety, is self-fertile. Flowers are of the medium type.
Fruits are large, round in shape, with white flesh. The skin is pale yellow in color with a bright red blush. The flesh is firm, melting, juicy, and very sweet, with a floral aroma. The stone is free. The variety is characterized by excellent transport qualities.
Fruit ripening occurs at mid-late times. The variety possesses winter hardiness comparable to the J. H. Hale and Elberta varieties. The best cultivation results are achieved on elevated sites with sandy or sandy loam soils.
