Fruits are of medium size and almost round in shape. The skin is colored dark purple or red-purple. The flesh is light amber, juicy and sweet, acquiring red hues near the skin upon full maturity; the pit is freestone.

The tree is noted for high vigor and productivity. The variety is self-incompatible; for pollination, the varieties Santa Rosa, Nubiana, Burgundy, or Sunrise Gulf are recommended. The ripening period falls in July–August. The variety is relatively hardy, but may be susceptible to aphids and stone fruit pests.
