The Rubira variety is a rootstock of French origin intended for grafting peaches, nectarines, and other species of the genus Prunus. It promotes the formation of compact trees and accelerates the onset of fruiting in grafted plants.
The plant has a red-leaved form, which gives it decorative properties. There is moderate resistance of this rootstock to crown gall caused by Agrobacterium tumefaciens.
