The rootstock belongs to the species Prunus insititia and is used in nursery production for grafting plum, cherry plum, mirabelle, peach, nectarine, and certain apricot varieties. Trees grafted on this rootstock reach approximately 75% of the size of a tree on a seedling rootstock, ranging in height from 3.5 to 5.5 meters.
The plant possesses excellent compatibility with most stone fruit varieties, is winter hardy, and does not require constant support. The rootstock shows moderate resistance to Phytophthora, bacterial canker, and crown gall, however, it is sensitive to root-knot nematodes and soil waterlogging.
