Variety description

10 August 2026

Rootstocks of this group, including the breeding forms St. Julien A and GF 655/2, are classified as semi-dwarfing and allow trees to reach approximately 75% of the size of standard seedling rootstocks. They are suitable for fan-shaped crown training or compact bush forms and contribute to increased yield and improved fruit quality of the grafted variety.

Plants of this type possess moderate resistance to diseases such as Phytophthora rot, bacterial wilt, and crown gall, with medium to limited winter hardiness. The rootstocks are demanding of soil conditions, preferring sites with good drainage and performing poorly in waterlogged or heavy clay soils.
