Pera Verzelinna is a traditional variety of folk selection, historically cultivated in the Veneto regions, as well as in the vicinity of Florence and Genoa. In ancient sources, the variety is often associated with names such as «falsa Moscatellina» or «Giugnolina».

This variety does not possess clearly recorded characteristics of growth or disease resistance corresponding to modern standards. Historically, such trees were grown extensively and used within local gardening for consumption on peasant farms.
