Variety description

10 August 2026

Trees of this type are characterized by high growth vigor, significant height, and winter hardiness, capable of living for hundreds of years. The fruits are medium-sized, round-turbinate or irregular in shape, and the skin is often olive-green with brownish spots or russeting.

The flesh of the pears is whitish, semi-melting, sometimes with granulations, with a flavor ranging from sweet to sweet-and-sour, with a pleasant aroma. Historically, these are predominantly winter forms with a ripening period from October to January–April, although summer varieties also exist.

Pears of this type are traditionally used as dessert fruit, as well as for culinary processing, including the preparation of compotes and jams. Due to their high keeping quality, winter forms were historically an important product for the winter market.
