The variety is a spontaneous bud mutation of the Williams pear. The tree is weak to medium-growing, reaches a height of 3–5 meters, and forms a compact, rounded-pyramidal crown. It is a late-summer (early-autumn) crop with fruit harvest in the second half of August.
The fruits are medium-sized, pear-shaped, and distinguished by an intense dark red or burgundy skin color. The flesh is yellowish-white, melting, and juicy, with a pronounced muscat flavor. The variety is versatile, suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
The plant is not self-fertile and requires the presence of pollinators to obtain a yield. The variety is thermophilic, sensitive to late spring frosts, relatively resistant to scab, but shows limited resistance to fire blight and the pear psylla.
