The variety belongs to the group of mid-late or late-maturing plants with a long growing season. In scientific studies, the variety is considered an effective means of biofumigation for suppressing populations of Meloidogyne nematodes.

The plant is used primarily for agricultural purposes as an intermediate crop for improving soil conditions and weed control. It can also be used for green fodder, with the optimal stage for ensiling being the period of end of flowering or beginning of fruiting.
