The variety is one of the oldest European varieties, originating from the Netherlands. The plant forms a vigorous bush 1.0–1.5 m in height and up to 2 m in width with straight, sturdy shoots.
The ripening period is late; harvesting occurs in August. The medium-sized berries are collected in dense short clusters, possess a fresh sweet-and-sour taste, and hold firmly to the pedicels without shattering.
The variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness, but may be susceptible to powdery mildew. The produce is suitable for fresh consumption and processing into juices, jams, and jellies.
