The Turbo group varieties are the result of many years of breeding by Hungarian specialists. The Turbo Obelisk group consists of vegetatively propagated clones, while Turbo is the seed offspring of this group, possessing a high growth rate that is twice that of common species of Robinia.

The trees are distinguished by a straight trunk and high resistance to drought, air pollution, diseases, and pests, which allows them to be used on poor soils. In addition to timber and biomass production, the plants are suitable for creating protective forest belts, sand stabilization, and honey-producing landscaping due to their prolonged flowering.
