Variety description

The plant is a compact semi-upright subshrub reaching a height of 30–45 cm. Leaves are narrow, needle-like, dark green with a silvery underside; young shoots may have a reddish tint.
Flowers are violet-blue and gathered in inflorescences. Flowering occurs in late winter and spring, with a possible second wave in late summer.
The variety is drought-tolerant and tolerant of alkaline soils, however, it is susceptible to powdery mildew in conditions of poor air circulation. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 6–10, tolerating temperatures down to -9…-10°C.
