The variety is a hexaploid and a descendant of the Veitchberry hybrid, which determines its nature as a raspberry-blackberry hybrid, although morphologically the plant is closer to a blackberry. The bush is characterized by strong, vigorous shoots that have a tendency toward trailing or arching growth.

Fruiting of the variety occurs in July and August. The berries are large, rounded, black in color, and gathered in large clusters. The variety is distinguished by being undemanding and having the ability to tolerate various growing conditions, including shading.

The produce is suitable for fresh consumption, freezing, and use in home gardening. Due to its high vigor, the plant is also used to create hedges.
