The Wilsons Frühe variety is a historical German synonym for the blackberry variety "Agawam". Current-year shoots reach a height of 1.5–2 m, can be erect or drooping, and have thorns. Under the weight of the crop, the shoots can bend.
The fruits are medium-sized, purple-black in color, and have a sweet-and-sour taste; slight bitterness is possible when overripe. The variety has good self-fertility and high winter hardiness. It is characterized by high resistance to anthracnose, rust, and cane blight.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
