Diamond Jubilee
ActiveRubus idaeus L. · Red raspberry
Vinson Peter Edward
10 August 2026
The variety is non-remontant, bearing fruit on second-year canes. The harvest period falls in late July – August and lasts about a month. The bush is vigorous, reaching a height of 1.8–2.5 meters; canes are upright, stiff, with sparse short thorns, and require trellising.
Berries are large, weighing 5–8 g, round-conical in shape, dark red with a glossy sheen. They possess a firm consistency, do not drop when ripe, and are resistant to softening in rainy weather. The variety shows high resistance to Botrytis cinerea and good winter hardiness.
The use of the berries is universal: suitable for the fresh market, freezing, and processing. The variety occupies a niche between the end of harvesting traditional summer varieties and the beginning of the fruiting of remontant ones.
