The Viking raspberry variety was obtained as a result of crossing the Cuthbert and Marlboro varieties. The plant is characterized by strong, vigorous, upright canes, which are almost completely thornless.
The fruits of this variety are distinguished by their large size, conical shape, and firm structure. At present, the variety is practically not used in commercial horticulture, but it is known as an important parent form that participated in the breeding of a number of modern raspberry varieties.
