The variety «Violette» (or «Violette de Bouze») is an old local variety from the Côte-d’Or region. The plant is non-everbearing, the harvest ripening period is early, early June. The fruits have a characteristic red-violet color.
The name «Violette» is often mistakenly confused with the «Vajolet» variety of Italian breeding. «Vajolet» is an everbearing variety derived from «Polka», and is a vigorous plant over 2 meters tall with large berries.
