The variety is a diploid winter rye. It is used primarily as a green manure or cover crop to improve soil condition and regulate crop rotation; baking quality of the grain is not a target trait.
The plant has a medium-length stem with slight pubescence under the ear. The ear is of medium density and length, and is positioned horizontally. The grain is characterized by a dark color of the aleurone layer and a medium to large thousand kernel weight.
