The variety forms a hemispherical crown and reaches a height of about 50–75 cm. It is a male clone and therefore does not produce fruit.
Ornamental red buds appear on the plant in autumn and persist throughout the winter. In March-April, they open into fragrant cream-white flowers. The plant is characterized by winter hardiness and prefers locations protected from direct sunlight with acidic or slightly acidic soils.
