The variety is of Italian origin and, based on its morphological traits, belongs to the group of elongated purple eggplants of the «Violetta Lunga» type. The fruits are characterized by an intense, bright purple coloration.
In scientific research, the variety is known as susceptible to the fungal disease Verticillium dahliae. Due to being well-studied, it is actively used as a model organism when conducting phytopathological studies of eggplant genotypes.
