The Hugo F1 variety is a breeding form of Solanum torvum intended for use exclusively as a rootstock for eggplant. The plant is characterized by high vigor, a developed root system, and a high degree of affinity with various eggplant varieties, ensuring uniform development and an increased ability to absorb nutrients, especially in the winter period.
The plant possesses high resistance to nematodes, Fusarium wilt, and corky root rot, as well as medium tolerance to bacterial wilt and Verticillium wilt. The hybrid seeds require light for germination, and sowing is recommended 25 days before sowing the scion crop, using trays and a light layer of vermiculite.
