The variety was obtained by crossing the Topas and Basin Russet varieties. The plant is characterized by strong stems and purple flowers; initial foliage development is rapid. Tubers have a mealy cooking type, contain about 21.8% dry matter, and are suitable for long-term storage.

The potato is resistant to golden potato cyst nematode (G. rostochiensis) and G. pallida, as well as tuber flesh spotting. Sensitivity to metribuzin and a certain tendency toward secondary growth, growth cracks, mechanical damage, and flesh discoloration are noted.
