The variety was bred by breeder Denis Griffin at the Teagasc Crops Research Centre. In terms of its purpose, the potato is oriented towards pre-pack markets, which involve the sale of washed or pre-packed products in consumer packaging.
Morphologically, the sprouts of the variety have a spherical shape. Pubescence of the sprouts is absent or very weak, and the size of the tip in relation to the base is medium.
