Gemson is an early potato variety (second early) belonging to the table and salad type. The tubers have a round or short-oval shape, are characterized by uniformity in size, smooth white skin, and cream flesh with shallow eyes. The plant forms red-violet flowers and reaches a height of 60–70 cm.
The variety is characterized by high yield with a large number of tubers per nest and a minimal percentage of substandard produce. Due to the slightly waxy texture of the flesh, it is suitable for boiling, steaming, and frying. The variety has a long natural dormancy period, which contributes to good storage quality.
The plant has complex resistance to diseases, including blackleg, potato leafroll virus, as well as common and powdery scab. The variety is suitable for cultivation in various conditions, including in containers and open field.
