The variety, also known by the breeding number BR7093-24, was obtained by crossing lines BR5960-9 and ND5737-3. Tubers are characterized by a round or oval-oblong shape and have smooth light-beige skin with possible scaly areas.
The variety has a high tuber specific gravity and maintains quality indicators when stored at a temperature of about 10°C. Gemchip demonstrates resistance to most common field diseases of potatoes.
