The variety was bred at the Potato Research and Development Station in Târgu Secuiesc as a result of sexual hybridization followed by individual clonal selection.
The purpose of the variety includes industrial processing for starch, flakes, or chips, as well as use for autumn-winter consumption. In agronomic studies, the variety is often an object for testing cultivation technologies, fertilization methods, and studying the response to water stress.
