The variety is a Bulgarian commercial potato, the seed stock of which originates from the potato breeding station in the town of Samokov. The variety is intended for cultivation for the purpose of fresh consumption.
During studies on resistance to potato wart Synchytrium endobioticum, the variety showed an absence of gall formation in pot tests and is classified as weakly susceptible. The variety has also been a subject of scientific work on the use of Bt-technologies to increase resistance to the Colorado potato beetle.
