Kyra is a mid-late potato variety with cooking type A, which means a non-disintegrating firm flesh structure. The tubers have a long-oval shape, large size, and shallow eyes. The skin is red, the flesh is light yellow. Dry matter content is about 17.8%.
The variety possesses high resistance to scab, Y virus, nematode, and potato wart, and also shows strong resistance to Erwinia. The plant tolerates heat and drought well and requires a lower amount of nitrogen fertilizers. The variety is intended for fresh consumption and export.
