The variety is late-maturing. In breeding work, Maradonna was used in hybridization to obtain such varieties as Everest and Orchestra, as well as to develop lines resistant to the Columbia root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne chitwoodi).
The variety has high potential as genetic material, demonstrating resistance and yield indicators. There is data on its suitability for French fry production and high starch content.
