The tubers of the variety have an oval shape. The flesh is firm (waxy) and yellow in color. When boiled, the tubers do not fall apart, which makes the variety suitable for use in stews, braised dishes, and curries.
The variety is susceptible to certain pests, in particular to the golden potato cyst nematode. It has been used as a parental form in the breeding of other potato varieties.
