Variety description

10 August 2026

The Sidney variety was obtained by crossing the Lady Anna and AR 05-3392 varieties. The plant produces large long-oval tubers with light or cream flesh. The variety is characterized by good keeping quality, but is sensitive to mechanical damage during harvesting and internal browning, therefore it requires a pause of at least three weeks between haulm killing and harvesting.

The variety is included in the Agrico 'Next Generation' line with increased resistance to late blight. It possesses good resistance to viruses and golden potato cyst nematode (Ro 1/4), and exhibits field resistance to white potato cyst nematode (Pa 2). At the same time, the variety is susceptible to Ro 2/3 and very susceptible to potato wart (pathotype F1).

During agronomic operations, the use of metribuzin is not recommended due to the risk of yield reduction. The variety is suitable for cultivation on various soil types.
