The variety belongs to traditional Slovenian breeding and was developed within the framework of the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (KIS) program launched in 1949. It is currently considered a historical variety that has been replaced by modern varieties in commercial cultivation.
The Institute maintains the genetic material of this potato in its gene bank, including in vitro collections and microtubers. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the variety, such as maturity indicators or disease resistance, are not described in the Institute's modern scientific reports.
