The variety Gelspir, known under the trade name White Carpet, is a compact shrub. The height of the plant after 10 years is about 0.5 m, and under certain conditions, it can reach 0.8–1 m.
The leaves are green, turning a golden hue in the autumn. Flowering is abundant, with white flowers gathered in corymbose inflorescences.
The shrub is light-loving but tolerates light shading and is characterized by high winter hardiness. It is recommended for use as a groundcover plant, for group plantings, for landscaping rock gardens, and for cultivation in containers.
