The plant has an upright habit, high leafiness, and late stem lignification, which ensures high nutritional value. Seeds have a mixed yellow-violet color. The variety adapts to various soil types, excluding highly acidic ones. Cold resistance depends on the formation of 3–4 true leaves before the onset of frost; the variety also shows resistance to fungal diseases.

The variety is versatile and is used in pure stands for green mass, hay, and seed production, in multi-species grass mixtures, and as a green manure crop. Yield of green mass is 200–500 c/ha, seeds 8–11 c/ha. The recommended seeding rate is 25–30 kg/ha, with sowing times in early autumn or spring.
