Hungaropoly is a tetraploid (4n) variety of red clover used as a forage crop. It is grown both independently and as part of pasture mixtures, including those with grasses.

Morphologically, the variety is characterized by larger flower parts compared to diploid varieties, with a corolla tube length reaching 9.43 mm. The seeds of the variety are distinguished by an increased weight, but may have a lower number of inflorescences per unit area and a reduced content of hard seeds.

The variety possesses resistance to infection by clover rot (Sclerotinia trifoliorum). In terms of chemical composition, the biomass is characterized by a reduced content of potassium and phosphorus with a high level of calcium.
