The variety is a local population from the Kortesjärvi region. In agricultural trials, it shows higher yields than the Jokioinen variety, but is inferior to modern commercial varieties. In terms of maturity, it is relatively early, flowering several days earlier than Jokioinen.

The plant possesses moderate winter hardiness and medium regrowth capacity after mowing. The variety is intended for forage purposes, such as hay or haylage production or use in pasture mixtures, and is included in programs for the conservation of the genetic stock of local varieties.
