The plant is perennial or polyannual with a lifespan of 2–3 years and an erect stem. The variety possesses the ability for rapid regrowth, and green mass yield in the first year of life can reach 50–60 tons per hectare, with productivity decreasing in the second and third years. Seed yield ranges from 300 to 700 kg/ha.

The variety adapts well to various soil types, preferring a fresh and humid climate. The recommended seeding rate is 25–35 kg/ha; sowing is preferably carried out in spring, although autumn sowing is also permissible. The crop is used as a forage plant characterized by high-quality fodder consisting predominantly of leaves.
